Month of Prayer and Giving Day 26 – Evangelical Tract Society

I didn’t become a Christian through a tract. I did become a Grace Baptist through one. My family and I were seeking to plant an independent evangelical church in Haringey, London. One day as we were walking down Wood Green High Street a tract was placed in my hand. That was my first encounter with a Grace Baptist and my first experience with Evangelical Tract Society tracts. It would not be the last.

In time our church plant would amalgamate with Grace Baptist Church in Wood Green from which Evangelical Tract Society operated. Though ETS later moved to St Johns Wood we kept friendly relations with all involved until finally the Society was closed. But even that was not the end.

The Trustees of ETS kindly gifted a significant sum to Grace Baptist Partnership. These funds are used for the purchase of evangelistic materials and supplies for the church-planting projects in which we are involved plus other evangelistic casino initiatives. This week alone 500 copies of ‘Ultimate Questions’ will be provided for a special Easter outreach in Livingstone, Scotland from this fund.

Will you thank the Lord for the tremendous work of ETS over many years? Will you likewise give Him thanks for the ongoing work of ETS via the literature grant scheme of GBP?

Will you pray for the evangelistic outreach in Livingstone? Will you ask the Lord to bring many people to Christ there and that in time a new church will be formed?

Will you pray for those who are faithfully distributing tracts in places large and small throughout the land?

Will you join them?
